Does livestock antibiotic use exceed suggested target?, 2010

Antibiotics are used in livestock for animal health and productivity, but also pose a risk for antibiotic resistance in both humans and livestock. Although not
legally-binding, many countries have set targets to reduce antibiotic use to 50 milligrams per kilogram of meat production (50mg/PCU).
