Energy intensity by sector, United States, 1990 to 2012

Energy intensity is measured as the quantity of energy needed to produce one unit of economic output. This is measured in megajoules (MJ) per 2011 international-$.
This corrects for inflation and cross-country differences in prices (PPP).
