Index of US maternal mortality and female labor force participation (FLFP)

The index of maternal mortality (maternal deaths per 100,000 live births) and female labor force participation (% of the female population that is economically active) is
calculated as maternal mortality and FLFP in each year divided by the starting value in 1900 (therefore 1900 = 100). In 1900, maternal mortality was 850 deaths per
100,000 live births and FLFP was 20.4%.
