Prevalence of stunting vs. people practicing open defecation, 2017

The share of children under 5 years old who are stunted versus the share of the total population practicing open defecation. A child is defined as stunted if their
height-for-age is more than two standard deviations below the median for the international reference population ages 0-59 months. Open defecation refers to the
percentage of the population defecating in the open, such as in fields, forest, bushes, open bodies of water, on beaches, in other open spaces, or disposed of with
solid waste.
